Severe flooding near Delhi's Red Fort leaves vehicles submerged

Severe flooding and waterlogging near the historic Red Fort and Salimgarh Fort in Delhi during the monsoon season. Large sections of the roadway have been inundated by murky floodwater, leaving multiple vehicles partially submerged and struggling to navigate through the affected area. Cars, transport vehicles, and other commuters face challenging conditions as rising water levels disrupt normal traffic flow. In the background, the iconic red sandstone arches and fortifications associated with the Red Fort–Salimgarh complex provide a striking contrast to the flood scene. Historically, the Yamuna River flowed close to the eastern walls of the Red Fort, and periods of exceptionally high river levels have often threatened nearby low-lying areas.
