Video Description
What if the biggest barrier to your growth isn't a lack of intelligence, but the comforting lie that you already understand? This talk explores how the Dunning-Kruger effect traps us into "performing competence" while our fear of looking stupid stops us from asking the very questions that lead to mastery. By embracing radical honesty and the courage to say "I don't know yet," you can break free from the illusion of knowledge and finally open the door to true discovery. A dynamic international student at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Sinxay Chanthavong embodies the spirit of a modern global citizen. Balancing his roles as a Marketing Specialist and a Sports Coach, Sinxay brings a unique blend of strategic thinking, discipline, and cross-cultural leadership to every project he undertakes. His academic and social contributions have been recognized at the highest levels, notably being honored as the Outstanding Laotian Student in Ho Chi Minh City for three consecutive years (2023–2025). In 2024, Sinxay showcased his exceptional communication skills by winning the Best Presentation Award at the 8th International Student Science Forum. As a delegate of the 1st World Student Festival, Sinxay is a dedicated bridge-builder between international student communities. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
