Video Description
Part 2 of this heavy duty parts washer build continues, with more fabrication as the internal structure and overall layout start coming together. With the tank and base fabricated, the focus now shifts to building out the components that make this unit practical to use in the workshop. Internal supports are cut and tacked into the tank from SHS steel to carry the parts shelf, followed by fabricating and fitting a mesh shelf that needs to sit cleanly inside the tank. From there, a manifold bar is fabricated from SHS, with holes for fittings drilled and welded in before being test fitted on the tank. This is where things get interesting. The outlet fittings line up almost perfectly with the lid support ribs, creating a clearance issue when the lid closes. Rather than forcing it Kurtis has a quick fix with some 45° angle fittings. The fold down door is also measured and cut to fit compression latches for opening and closing. Then it’s back onto the base where the storage shelves are tacked into place and cabinet doors installed. This heavy duty parts washer build is really coming together, but an urgent customer job takes priority and we have to put this on pause. Stay tuned for the next video, there’s still plenty more to do to get this completed. 👉WATCH PART 3 NEXT: https://youtu.be/9txlORFAXpw 🎥 MISSED PART 1?
