I wanted to challenge myself by learning how to model in Blender—and what better way to push my skills than by turning it into a full YouTube project? My goal was to design a Deathclaw inspired by Fallout 4, 3D print it, and give it a detailed paint job to bring it to life. And at the very end, Gary jumps in to help create a cool custom box design for it, too. You might notice that the presentation style of this video is quite different from my usual work. I wanted to see what would happen if I gave everything I had to a single video—no shortcuts, no compromises, just pure effort. And honestly? I’m not disappointed with the results. I framed this project like a story, with visits to various iconic Fallout locations, each one contributing to the process of making the statue. I pulled out all the stops with cinematic shots, pushing my After Effects and Photoshop skills to the limit. That said, this level of production isn’t sustainable—I spent five weeks making this video! At that pace, I’d barely be able to release 10 videos a year, which feels a bit too slow for my liking. I’m all for quality over quantity, but this might’ve been a step too far. Still, I’m glad I gave it a shot, and I’ll definitely revisit this style from time to time.
