Video Description
One guest one residence One guest one residence is the concept as well as a phrase that plays on the "One guest one ‘pavilion'" saying in tea ceremonies, meaning the tea master serves one guest with all their heart. The variation on the phrase means total hospitality in the "residence (space)". This spirit was incorporated into guest room design, creating a space for guests to enjoy hospitality in the spirit of the tea ceremony. Guest room designs evoke an image with tatami mats and alcove that define such a tea ceremony room, the spatial elements of sliding doors and shoji screens, and furnishings such as tea ceremony utensils and hanging scrolls reinterpreted and made in a modern way. In addition, original fusuma paintings inspired by the decorations of Nijo Castle and natural visuals such as the Kyoto Gozan or the flowing waters of the Kamo River are incorporated throughout as accents.
