Twisha Sharma case
Video Description
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted permission for a second postmortem in the Twisha Sharma death case after her family filed a petition seeking a fresh examination. During the hearing, the lawyer representing Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh stated that they have no objection to the second postmortem but requested that the body be handed over to the accused’s family after the procedure. The Solicitor General clarified that a second postmortem does not imply allegations against anyone but is intended to strengthen trust among all parties involved. He also said there was no doubt regarding the competence of the doctor who conducted the first autopsy. Senior advocate Mrigendra Singh informed the court that Samarth Singh wishes to withdraw his anticipatory bail plea and surrender before the trial court. However, the Solicitor General opposed the request for an immediate same-day decision on the bail plea, questioning the accused’s rights at this stage of the investigation. The Central Bureau of Investigation is likely to take over the investigation after the Government of Madhya Pradesh agreed to hand over the case. A demand has also been made to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh. The copyright ownership in the video rests with India Today Group.
