From Sri Lanka to an Early Childhood Education Teacher in New Zealand | Fathima’s Journey

Fathima moved to New Zealand from Sri Lanka to pursue her passion for early childhood education. Starting her journey with Level 5 in Sri Lanka, she continued her studies with NZTC and is now in her final year of the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). Along the way, she gained hands-on experience through placements while working in an ECE centre in Auckland, building both practical skills and confidence in the classroom. Inspired by New Zealand’s unique Te Whāriki curriculum and its diverse, welcoming environment, Fathima is now working towards her long-term goal of becoming a centre owner.
