Sunrise Express Izumo & Seto (寝台特急サンライズ出雲瀬戸号) is Japan's only overnight sleeper train which runs everyday (日本で唯一の毎日運行の夜行列車). Today, I book the second cheapest and most standard private room called “Single” (B寝台個室シングル) from Izumoshi Station to Tokyo Station (出雲市駅から東京駅). It's a 950km (590 miles) trip that takes about 12 hours. It's the longest train ride in Japan. I recommend you reserve a seat on the right side. This is because you can see the sunrise over the sea. ☆★☆This is what it was actually like!☆★☆ ---Single room on the Sunrise Izumo--- * The station staff at Izumoshi Station was cheerful and kind. * At Izumoshi Station, unlike Tokyo Station, I didn't have to wait in line at the platform early to buy a shower card. * Even the second cheapest and most standard seat was comfortable enough. * It was nice that the Single Room had a small desk that was just right for eating light meals. * I couldn't see anything from the window while the train was running in the countryside at night. * If you book a seat on the right side, you can see the sunrise over the sea and other trains passing by. * But, you will get a sunburn. And the sounds of the passing trains are a little noisy. A challenge to visit every country in the world...
