Today I stand before you as a fellow Syrian, carrying the weight of a story that has reshaped our nation and scattered millions of us across the world. The Syrian Civil War began in 2011 with calls for freedom and dignity. Those peaceful dreams turned into a nightmare of violence, bombings, and displacement. Entire cities like Aleppo, Homs, and Raqqa became symbols of destruction. Families fled, seeking refuge in tents, camps, and distant lands, leaving behind homes, memories, and loved ones. Over 12 million of us were displaced, either internally or as refugees. We carried our identity in our hearts. Sharing for the first time the sufferings we have experienced under Assad’s regime in our homeland Syria. Thanks God now Syria is FREE from Assad regime and we are full of hopes to rebuild our beautiful country. As a Syrian, this moment feels monumental. After years of conflict and unimaginable hardship, the Assad regime has finally collapsed. It began on November 27, 2024, when anti-regime forces launched a massive offensive, seizing control of Aleppo, Homs, and other major cities. By December 7, Damascus fell.
