Presiden RI Prabowo Subianto menyentil kelompok elite yang takut dengan kenaikan kurs dollar AS serta mengkhawatirkan stok bahan bakar minyak (BBM) tidak cukup.
Menurut Prabowo, sikap ketakutan itu dapat membawa Indonesia menjadi bangsa yang lemah.
"Tanpa kemakmuran kita tidak mungkin bisa jaga kedaulatan kita. Bahwa kemungkinan besar kita akan menjadi bangsa yang lemah, bangsa yang selalu takut kurs dollar, takut BBM tidak cukup, takut ini takut itu, bangsa yang takut, bangsa yang elite-nya takut," ujar Prabowo dalam pidatonya di Rapat Paripurna DPR di Gedung DPR, Senayan, Jakarta, Rabu (20/5/2026).
