With my sister’s wedding just days away, it was the perfect time to slow down, be present, and share my home culture with my fiancé, Lisa, for the very first time. From the streets of Berlin to my childhood village, we explore different corners of Germany. We visit the beautiful Peacock Island (Pfaueninsel), see the cherry blossoms in South Berlin, and I finally show Lisa (my Indonesian fiancé) the famous Berlin Döner Kebab. We can also see Lisa's first impression of Germany. One of the highlights was bringing Lisa into my mom’s kitchen to learn the secrets of the perfect homemade Schnitzel and a classic German sponge cake. It’s so special to see her connecting with my family through food and traditions before we head back to Jakarta to plan our own Indonesian wedding!
