Video Description
Sreyansh speaks with humor, honesty, and striking self-awareness about something millions silently experience every day: overthinking. Beginning with a Grade 10 math exam score that felt far more significant than it should have, he shares how a single message spiraled into distraction, anxiety, and endless imagined scenarios. But through reflection, he discovered that overthinking itself was never the enemy — directionless overthinking was. Introducing the idea of “strategic overthinking,” Sreyansh explores how our thoughts, when given purpose and boundaries, can shift from creating fear to generating solutions. Through relatable stories and practical insights, he challenges us to stop fighting our minds and instead learn how to work with them—because the same thoughts that shake us can also shape us. Sreyansh is a computer science and mathematics student with a strong interest in artificial intelligence and software development. Drawn to understanding how systems think and adapt, he hopes to build AI tools that support clearer decision-making. Shaped by periods of change and uncertainty, he has developed a thoughtful, analytical approach to problems—one that values reflection, pattern recognition, and intent. What began as overthinking has become a strength, guiding how he learns, observes, and builds. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
