Hidden deep between dramatic mountains, forests, and rivers, this remote settlement feels like a place completely disconnected from modern time. Sabbione is an idyllic stone village, built in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. The houses are made almost entirely of granite, carefully shaped and stacked by hand, blending directly into the rocky landscape. Some homes are even partially built under massive boulders, creating a surreal atmosphere that instantly reminds visitors of fantasy worlds like “The Lord of the Rings”. It almost feels like a hidden village of Alpine hobbits. What makes Sabbione truly special is its extraordinary state of preservation.
