The bird appears to be a juvenile or second-year male, identifiable by its vibrant blue neck and chest, barred wing feathers, and relatively short brown tail that lacks the spectacular eye-spotted train of a fully mature peacock. Captured in a typical feeding posture, the young peafowl searches the ground for seeds, grains, insects, and other small food items hidden among the grass.
