Ancient medinas weave through the heart of cities like Casablanca, Marrakech, and Fes, where narrow alleyways lead you past crumbling ochre walls, hidden courtyards, and doorways painted in deep, inviting blues and greens. The call to prayer echoes above the hum of everyday life, blending with car horns, street vendors’ shouts, and the clinking of tea glasses as people pause to share a moment over mint tea. Beyond the cities, Morocco reveals an extraordinary variety of landscapes. The Atlantic coastline stretches for hundreds of kilometers, where fishing boats bob lazily on the waves and surfers chase rolling swells near towns like Essaouira. Inland, fertile plains give way to rugged mountains. The Atlas Mountains rise dramatically, their peaks dusted with snow in winter, hiding remote Berber villages where life moves at a slower, more traditional pace. Further south and east, the land slowly melts into the Sahara, where towering dunes glow gold at sunrise and turn fiery orange as the sun sinks below the horizon. Spending a night in the desert under a sky crowded with stars is one of those experiences that lingers long after you have left.
