Guess How Many Deep Sea Animals Are UNKNOWN

If you stuck a cup deep into the ocean and pulled up a sample of water you’d find all sorts of things: pieces of scales, poop, and other animal matter. In recent years, scientists have gotten really good at isolating and sequencing the DNA from these tiny leftovers. This sort of detective work is like CSI for the ocean and it lets them identify the exact animals that once passed through an environment, giving us a better picture of ocean ecosystems!
