بعد "عصائب أهل الحق" و"سرايا السلام"، أعلن فصيل "كتائب الإمام علي" قرارها بفك الارتباط بالحشد الشعبي وموافقتها على تسليم السلاح.. وأعلنت في بيان أنه انطلاقاً من المسؤولية الوطنية، وحفاظاً على مكاسب النصر، وتعزيزاً لسيادة الوحدة الوطنية، ومن منطلق المسؤولية الشرعية، قررت قيادة كتائب الإمام علي فك الارتباط بتشكيلات الحشد الشعبي، والمباشرة بإجراءات حصر السلاح بيد الدولة تماشياً مع الرغبة الوطنية وقرار الإخوة في الإطار التنسيقي.. قبل ذلك، أعلن فصيل "عصائب أهل الحق" الشيعي المسلح في العراق فك الارتباط بهيئة الحشد الشعبي وتسليم السلاح، والارتباط بالقائد العام للقوات المسلحة العراقية.. وقالت قيادة "عصائب أهل الحق"، بزعامة قيس الخزعلي، في بيان صحافي، إنها قررت اليوم فك الارتباط بتشكيل الحشد الشعبي وحصر السلاح بيد الدولة، والارتباط بالقائد العام للقوات المسلحة العراقية.. هذا وأشاد رئيس الوزراء العراقي علي الزيدي بإعلان فصيلي "عصائب أهل الحق" و"كتائب الإمام علي" فك الارتباط بالحشد الشعبي، داعياً جميع القوى السياسية لتغليب المصلحة الوطنية.. وبحسب ما نشرته وكالة الأنباء العراقية، ثمن رئيس الوزراء العراقي موقف قيس الخزعلي وحركة عصائب أهل الحق لإعلانهم الشروع بفك الارتباط للتشكيلات المنضوية ضمن الحشد الشعبي.
