Amin Abdullah’s daughter pays tribute to her dad

“To me, my dad was a role model” The daughter of Amin Abdullah, a security guard who was killed at the Islamic Center of San Diego while defending more than 140 children during an anti-Muslim shooting, paid tribute to her father. “Regardless if you were Muslim, if you were Christian, if you were Jewish, or if you had no faith — he didn’t care. He would treat you human to human. He would smile at people he did not know,” Hawaa Abdullah said during a press conference. Earlier today, Amin Abdullah was described as a hero by US police officials. “He immediately observed the threat to everybody at the mosque. He began to engage them with gunfire,” San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said during a press conference. “His actions, without a doubt, delayed, distracted, and ultimately deterred these two individuals from gaining access to the greater areas of the mosque, where as many as 140 kids were within 15 feet of these suspects,” Wahl added.
