'Kahit may El Niño pwede pa rin kami pumasok': Gatchalian twits Robin on force majeure

Robin Padilla’s argument that the Iran war and the El Niño phenomenon are examples of force majeure and should be considered as reasons to justify teleconferencing for senators. “Kahit na may El Niño, pwede pa naman kami pumasok. Kahit na may gera sa Iran, which is anlayo-layo nga, pwede pa rin kami makapasok,” he said in a DZMM interview. “So hindi porket may nangyayari sa buong mundo o may nangyayari sa ating bansa, e kaagad teleconference. Ang sinasabi ng rules, kung may mangyayari man na hindi nating kontrolado at sabi ng majority, mayorya, na ito ay isang force majeure at may isa pa, hindi kami makakapasok tsaka lang papasok in teleconference.” Members of the Senate minority walked out of the Senate session last Tuesday due to a perceived rush to change the rules on teleconferencing. Some senators have said the rule change would only benefit Sen. Bato dela Rosa, who is in hiding due to a live ICC arrest warrant.
