Video Description
This is where the parts washer finally comes together. Part 3 of the build is all about finishing off the fabrication and welding. We start by making the mounts for the levelling feet, drilling and tapping flat bar in the milling machine before tacking them onto the base. From there, it’s into fully welding the base and moving onto the main tank. The tank needs to be completely water tight so all the seams on the outside are welded before mounting it onto the base, welding it in position and finishing off the internal welds. Once that’s done, we cut a hole for the outlet and weld in the fitting for the pump, along with setting up and installing the gas struts for the lid and pre drilling for the pump mounts. With all fabrication complete, we fill the tank with water to check everything is water tight, then move into prep for paint. That means sanding down welds, cleaning up edges, removing any weld spatter and wiping down the entire surface ready for paint. But the weather has other ideas, so paint will have to wait… for now.
