Jeff Bezos has always driven Amazon towards success with high-performance standards for its warehouse workers. Amazon Fulfillment centers are already known to be a stressful high-paced work environment. 10-hour shifts, one 30-minute lunch break, and two 15 minute breaks, always on your feet. It's tough enough, but now imagine that your performance is recorded by multiple sensors, that your performance is calculated and compared with everyone else in the warehouse. If you sink below 100% and (don't make rate) then you risk your job. You can't sit, pause or even go to the toilet without it coming up as a red flag on the system. Sounds like a toxic workplace to me. Amazon employees are mixed on this way of work, some don't care and some think it's unfair.
