Video Description
Thanks to everyone who lent us their cars for this video: - Zeekr 8X: https://www.instagram.com/kainiansgarage/ - Rolls-Royce Cullinan: https://www.instagram.com/seanysgarage It’s time for a China vs Britain luxury showdown! Mat’s got his hands on the range-topping Zeekr 8X, and he’s going to compare it to a 5-year-old, second-hand Rolls-Royce Cullinan to see if massive tech can truly unseat the king of luxury SUVs. If you’re looking solely for performance, it’s easy to see why you may choose the Zeekr. It may only be equipped with a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, but this is used to power three electric motors which combine to produce a staggering 1,400hp and 1,410Nm of torque! In comparison, the Cullinan may have a huge 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12, but this can ‘only’ produce 571hp and 850Nm. However, the Rolls-Royce is the lighter of the two at 2,660kg, whereas the Zeekr’s heavy battery tech pushes it up to 2,820 kg! But chances are, if you’re in the market for one of these two cars, luxury tech and quality features are likely to be top of your agenda, and both of these cars are stacked full of them. Both cars come with soft-close automatic doors, massage seats in the front (although the Zeekr has them in the rear as well), and large infotainment screens in the front. However, while the interiors of both cars are styled relatively well, the Rolls easily wins it thanks to the quality of the materials throughout the cabin. Almost any element you touch feels expensive - but what else would you expect from a Rolls-Royce! However, there’s one area where the Zeekrs wins hands down - the price. The Rolls-Royce we have here, despite being 5 years old and second-hand, still costs £250,000. As for the Zeekr? As new, it only costs £54,300! So will Mat prefer the Zeekr to the Rolls-Royce? You’ll need to keep watching to see for yourself!
