Video Description
Wait — you don't know what IFAD14 is? Let's fix that. Because it could impact millions of farmers and the future of our global food systems. IFAD14 is the moment that will determine how much the world invests in @IFADTV — the International Fund for Agricultural Development — and in turn, millions of smallholder farmers around the world over the next 3 years. These farmers work at the "first mile” — where global food chains begin, but investment is scarcest. Last week in Nairobi, French President Emmanuel Macron (@EmmanuelMacron) and Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto gathered African leaders at the Africa Forward Summit. Global Citizen was there on the ground with IFAD advocating for greater investment in the smallholder farmers who feed Africa and the rest of the world. In December, world leaders will meet in Rome to decide what they'll commit to IFAD14. This is a moment to use your voice. Encourage your government to invest in food systems, rural communities, and the people building the future of agriculture. We have a chance to get this right. It starts with us. And it starts at the very first mile. :studio_microphone: Voiceover by Sabrina Elba, UN Goodwill Ambassador for @IFADTV and Global Citizen European Board Chair. Featuring IFAD President Álvaro Lario and H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana. #FinancingTheFirstMile _____________________________________________________________________ Global Citizen is a social action platform for a global generation that aims to solve the world’s biggest challenges.
