Video Description
We get a lot of questions about the ink stone and its purpose in the print shop at the Sacramento History Museum. In this video, Howard explains the ink stone, what it’s made of, how we use it, and shows the process of rolling out black rubber base ink with a brayer on the ink stone in preparation for some letterpress printing. As Howard demonstrates, the ink rolling is done to create an even layer of ink on the ink stone and the brayer. The remaining ink at the top of the stone will gradually be rolled out throughout the day as we’re printing. Rubber base ink is a very slow drying ink that can last all day on the ink stone and not dry. #ink #SacHistoryMuseum #unintentionalasmr #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #oddlysatisfying #printing #printmaking #oldsacramento #ytshorts #youtubeshorts #youtube #shorts #short #shortvideo #shortsvideo
