Video Description
The harbor is not a safe haven for our Cape Fur Seals, it’s a well disguised trap. Seal bulls lounging around the harbor docks are usually well-fed, comfortable, and completely oblivious to the massive amount of industrial rubbish swirling directly beneath them. They survive on fish scraps tossed from the commercial processing factories, spending most of their days sleeping peacefully in the warm sun. Because they are so used to human activity, they rarely mind our presence, unless we happen to disturb their afternoon naps. But this comfort comes at a terrible price. Many of these specific bulls have had to be rescued three, four, or even five times already, most commonly from the heavy plastic packing straps used to bind commercial bait boxes. The heartbreaking reality is that we will almost certainly have to return in a few weeks to save the exact same animals all over again. They simply don't understand that the plastic in their home is deadly. Thank you for watching and supporting our ongoing battle to break this endless cycle of pollution. 🦭 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Please visit our website to find out more about our work and how to support us: ➡ Website: https://www.ocnamibia.org/ ➡ Donate via Paypal: https://ow.ly/BTm550PIavq ➡ Donate via Stripe: https://ow.ly/Xy1F50PIMzQ ➡ Support via Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/OCN ➡ FAQs: https://www.ocnamibia.org/faqs Follow us on social media: ➡ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oceanconservationnamibia/ ➡ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/OCNamibia ➡ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@oc_namibia ➡ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/ocnamibia/ ➡ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ocnamibia 😊 Thank you for every like, share, comment and subscribe 😊 Ocean Conservation International is registered as a non-profit organisation under chapter 501(c)3.
