Video Description
Jakarta, Indonesia – The City of Contrast is the starting point of my new Java series. In this episode, I explore Jakarta, Indonesia to discover how the city blends old and new, tradition and modern life, into one constantly evolving megacity. This marks my fourth travel series after four years of traveling and documenting Indonesia, continuing the long journey from Sabang to Merauke across the archipelago. We begin in Old Jakarta, visiting historic areas like Sunda Kelapa, Glodok, and Kota Tua, before ending the day with one of the more unusual culinary experiences in the city — trying cobra. The following day, we shift to Modern Jakarta, exploring the SCBD business district, thrifting at Pasar Senen, and spending time around Blok M to experience a completely different side of urban life. To get around, we test Jakarta’s many transportation options — from traditional Bajaj and the KRL commuter line to the MRT and Silverbird taxis — showing what it’s actually like to move through this massive city. This episode is about contrasts: old vs. new, historic streets vs. modern skylines, and how Jakarta sets the stage for the journey across Java that continues in the next episodes. Stay tuned — more from the Java series coming soon! :) ► Social Media • Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thekristianhansen/ • Facebook: https://web.facebook.com/TheKristianHansen/ • YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/kristianhansen • Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thekristianhansen ► How to support? • Support the trip (from Indonesia): http://rb.gy/wz3dyz • Support the trip (Worldwide): https://paypal.me/KBHansen ► Liked the music?
